Bella Italia has added vegan cheese to the menu throughout the UK to cater for the growing vegan market. Vittorio Lettieri, Executive Chef at Bella Italia is at the heart of the change, with “healthier options” also being a reason for the inclusion of vegan cheese.
The vegan cheese will be available as part of the ‘create your own’ section of the menu, where diners can create their own pizza. Other vegan-friendly options on the menu include a new Verde Burger which is made with cannellini beans, garlic and Mediterranean veg. They have also introduced spiralised vegetables as an alternative to pasta for those who are conscious about their health, or who want to switch out pasta, which may contain eggs.
James Spragg, the Chief Operating Officer at Casual Dining Group, said: “Against a challenging market backdrop, we’ve had a very positive start to the year, as Italian food reains incredibly popular with UK diners.
“That said, we operate in a fast-paced industry, and innovation is imperative for success so we need to continually build on this momentum. This latest menu innovation reflects the rise in popularity of healthier alternatives and ethical choices, but also demonstrates our commitment to always listen to our customers, and the market, and our willingness to adapt.”
