It’s official: the Christmas hype has begun. Festive adverts have started showing on television, flyers for vegan-Christmas fayres are all over town, and Christmas desserts are on the rise.
This month, the mince pie is getting a makeover, as award-winning doughnut brand Crosstown launches its new Mince Pie flavour, along with a Winter Fruit Crumble variety, on November 30th.
At the beginning of this year, Crosstown – winner of PETA’s ‘Best Vegan Doughnut Award’, added exciting new vegan options to its range – since then, demand has exploded.
The Vegan Mince Pie Dough Bite is a mini-sized doughnut filled with homemade fruit mince, drizzled with brandy icing and topped with homemade Tongan vanilla bean crumble. The Vegan Winter Fruit Crumble is packed with festive spiced apple, pear, and quince compote, topped with a quince icing and homemade pecan crumble.
JP Then, Co-founder of Crosstown said: “We’re pumped to be launching handcrafted, vegan Christmas doughnuts this year. The new flavours encapsulate everything you’d expect from a festive treat, warming Londoners up on the frosty days ahead.”
The doughnut will be available at all Crosstown locations and online, whilst the dough bites will only be sold at Marylebone, Brockley Market and Victoria Park Market locations, as well as online.
