When did you become vegetarian then vegan?
Vegetarian aged 8 and vegan at 28, I’m now 32.
What influenced your change to veggie then vegan?
I went vegetarian after watching a TV show where the main character went vegetarian, so that was it, I told my parents I didn’t want to eat meat again and I didn’t. It took a further 20 years before I fully understood and made the connection to go vegan. At 28 and then a mother myself, I saw a video on Facebook showing what dairy cows go through (mothers just like me) all for milk.
Do you have a role model? If so, who?
There is so many inspirational people out there doing incredible work but ultimately my number one role model has to be my mum.
Favourite meal: Adas Polo, An Iranian lentil rice dish with Iranian bread.
