Holland & Barrett are set to open a fully vegan store, in light of the rise of health-conscious consumers and the growing vegan population. The plans were announced in an interview conducted by The Times with Peter Aldis, the CEO of Holland & Barrett.

Aldis said: “Today there is a trend towards veganism. We are working on a vegan-only store. It is our space and we should be in it.” In addition, he said that they have been altering the ingredients in some of their products, with krill and gelatine being removed. Recently, there has been pressure for companies to cut ties with the krill industry that is destroying eco systems and limiting food supply to animals.

Although the plans for the vegan-only store are vague in detail, the retailer is known for their stock of vegan food, health and beauty items.
