Paul McCartney has released a short film campaigning for Meat Free Mondays with guest appearances from his daughter Stella McCartney, Woody Harrelson and Emma Stone.
The film, named One Day a Week, focuses on the declining health of our planet and the role that animal agriculture is playing in contributing to climate change and environmental degradation.
The film is narrated by Paul McCartney and says: “What we often don’t hear much about is animal agriculture. Animal agriculture results in vast amounts of greenhouse gasses being released into the atmosphere. It requires increasingly unstainable levels of precious resources including land, water and energy. It is a major contributor towards global environmental degradation and climate change.”
Emma Stone, who is vegetarian, features in the film and says: “Almost a third of all land on Earth is used for Livestock production. Just try a day. Join us.”
