It’s always reassuring when a vegan celebrity or influential figure speaks out about veganism and promotes the cause, and there’s no better advocate for the plant-based movement than the vegan Saudi Arabian Prince, Khaled Bin Alwaleed.
Son of one of the wealthiest men in the world – billionaire investor and philanthropist Alwaleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz al Saudand, Prince Khaled has followed in his father’s footsteps and created KBW Investments, turning his attention to green energy, animal rights and technology. He is an advocate for the humane treatment of animals with a passion for preserving our planet by tackling climate change.
The Prince continues to put his position of power and wealth to good use with his plans to open a number of plant-based restaurants across the middle east in a bid to tackle obesity and promote the vegan cause. In addition to this, he has recently announced that he will be collaborating with celebrated plant-based chef, Matthew Kenney (founder of Matthew Kenney cuisine) to form a new partnership – KBW Ventures.
The joint venture will be called Folia, a consultancy and teaching partnership that aims to introduce vegan options to the menus of restaurants all around the world. The duo hopes that they will change the hospitality and food service industry on a global scale, opening them up to the endless opportunities that plant-based food has to offer.
