Quorn launch vegan ‘bleeding’ burgers

Meat-free food producer, Quorn, has announced its new vegan product, in light of its recent promise to expand their vegan range.

The company recently opened its newest research and development facility, where new products are being worked on.

Quorn’s new Ultimate Burger is soya-free and a quarter-pounder, due for release into Asda stores on April 8, 2019. It is expected to launch in Tesco stores later in April.

The brand has recently added fishless fillets, as well as new deli items and plant-based sausages to its vegan range.

Alex Glen, marketing director at Quorn Foods, said: “We’re now seeing the majority (52 per cent) of the UK meat-reduce. With this launch, we believe we can drive penetration of the meat-free category, by appealing to meat reducers, vegetarians and vegans alike with an innovative product that truly delivers on key attributes of taste, texture and appearance.”

He added: “Quorn Ultimate Burger makes it as easy as possible for consumers to reduce their mean consumption across key meal occasions, especially over the summer BBQ period, and form part of our key innovation platform, including recently-launched Fishless Fillets.”

Quorn opened their new facility to accommodate to the growing demand for meat replacements, with £150 million being spent on the new centre. The driving force behind their new facility was the 16 per cent increase in sales during 2017-18, worth £205 million.
