Sainsbury’s have launched a new selection of own brand ice cream flavours and they are all dairy-free and suitable for vegans. The new flavours are strawberry, vanilla and chocolate. The team who developed the vegan cheese Gary, are behind the new flavours alongside their supplier Bute Island Foods, who are a certified factory free from wheat, gluten, milk, soya and eggs.
In the UK veganism continues to rise, and more brands are releasing a wider choice of options. In addition, food allergies affect an average of 3-6 per cent of children, making these new flavours ideal for everyone.
Alexa Masterson, product developer at Sainsbury’s said: “We are excited to launch the latest additions to the Deliciously Free From range – a lot of love and attention has gone into developing these products to ensure our customers with an allergy or intolerance to wheat, gluten, milk, egg or soya can enjoy.
“By working closely with our supplier, we have created a unique recipe which we believe is a truly authentic alternative to ice cream – we can’t wait to hear what our customers think!”
The new ice creams are available now, and are priced at £3.50 for a 500ml tub.
