Worcestershire-based charity, Goodheart Animal Sanctuaries, is holding its first fundraising gala on Saturday 8th June
Set on the banks of the River Severn, near to Clevelode in the Malvern Hills, the event boasts a star-studded line-up, including Born Free actress, Virginia McKenna, OBE, and TV stand-up, Ed Gamble.
Tickets are mostly sold out, but a limited number of places are still available.
‘An evening to remember’
Project Director, Alison Hood, says: “Our inaugural gala promises to be an evening to remember. Guests can enjoy a sumptuous three-course meal along with the chance to bid on exciting auction prizes, from signed Bob Dylan artwork to a five-star trip to St Petersburg.”
“Guest of honour, Virginia McKenna will deliver a speech, followed by a stand-up set from Ed Gamble, star of BBC’s Mock the Week. We’re also excited to announce our new patron, actor and animal activist, Dan Richardson, will be joining us on the night.”
The charity, which creates safe sanctuaries for abused and neglected animals, is one of only a small number of farm animal sanctuaries in the UK.
Despite opening its doors less than two years ago, it’s already taken in over 250 rescued, abused and abandoned animals.
More than 900 million animals are farmed every year in the UK, yet few sanctuaries exist to offer those in need a safe home.
Hood adds: “Goodheart Animal Sanctuaries was founded to provide a forever home for these animals, and to campaign for their better treatment. All proceeds from the event will benefit the lives of rescued animals.”
Tickets for the 2019 Goodheart Gala cost £115 each or £1,000 for a table of ten. For more information and to book, visit goodheartanimalsanctuaries.com
