Temple of Seitan to sizzle into new South London location
Fast food champion Temple of Seitan is to welcome diners to its brand-new Brixton takeaway
Yes, you heard right – the extremely popular London-based vegan chick’n takeaway, Temple of Seitan, is opening another location for plant-powered diners, this Friday, 4th June 2021.
The new venue follows an impressive 12 months of growth that has pushed the brand from two to nine locations around London.
Vegan Success Story
When it comes to runaway success stories, you would be hard pressed to find a tale more impressive than that of Rebecca McGuinness and Patrick O’Shea of Temple of Seitan.
The entrepreneurial vegans (and real-life couple originally hailing from Melbourne, Australia) have taken their vegan fried ‘chicken’ fast food concept from a popular market stall to a globally-recognised, multi-site brand within the space of a few years.
In a statement sent to Vegan Life, founder and co-owner Rebecca McGuinness says of the Brixton opening: “Our Brixton location on Acre Lane is the result of overwhelming customer demand that hasn’t let up ever since I was serving street food around the markets of East London. In fact, our first ever market stall was just down the road on Coldharbour Lane.”
“Creating delicious vegan food that people love is all I’ve wanted to do and serving our menu in Brixton, an area celebrated for having some of the finest food in the city, is a huge personal and professional milestone for me.”
Temple of Seitan Brixton will serve the company’s famous fried vegan chick’n made from a secret blend of wheat gluten, herbs and spices. This is available in bite-sized popcorn pieces, sharing buckets, stacked burgers, and spicy wings alongside the full comfort food menu featuring crispy loaded fries, döner wraps, creamy mac n cheese, fresh coleslaw, and shakes.
‘A Challenging Year’
McGuinness says of the past year: “2020 was a challenging year for Temple of Seitan, as it was for everyone in hospitality. I’m incredibly proud of our team pulling together during one of the most difficult periods in modern times.”
“Changing our focus to delivery and keeping our food to the same highest standards has meant we have not just stayed visible and kept staff employed, but our business has actually expanded during the lockdowns.”
“Our Brixton opening and the exciting plans we have coming up soon after are all possible thanks to our loyal customers that have stood by us and grown this past year.”
Temple of Seitan will open June 4th 2021 at 128 Acre Lane, Brixton SW2 5RJ.
