Brixton, is well-known for its abundance of hip and vegan eateries, and this November, Halo Burger is set to become another
The Beyond Burger has already received masses of attention in the vegan world; it looks, cooks and tastes like meat, but is entirely plant-based and cruelty-free. Derived from pea protein, it packs 20g of plant-based protein and is free from GMOs, soy, and gluten.
Halo Burger will be the world’s first restaurant to specialise in serving the Beyond Burger – they spent over a year and a half creating a seasoning to perfectly complement the patty, going through multiple tastings in California and London.
The burger joint says that it is: “Here to give you what you crave, help you reduce your impact on the planet, all while still fuelling your passion for great tasting food all at an affordable price.”
With Veganuary on the horizon, the launch of Halo Burger comes at a great time for new vegans who might be struggling to transition, and is a great addition to the ever expanding number of plant-based restaurants.
Everything on their new menu is suitable for vegans, including The Halo Burger, Quarter Pounder with Cheese, Cheeseburger, Hamburger, and Pink Salt Fries.
The Halo Burger is the restaurants signature meal, which sees two 1/8lb hand-formed patties, layered with diced white onion, melted 100 per cent plant-based American style cheese, tomato, crisp lettuce and a tangy signature home-made sauce.
Halo Burger’s philosophy is to: “Put a new spin on fast food, by pairing a nostalgic experience with good vibes and great tunes.” Their interior will provide a relaxed and welcoming environment, and is sure to become a favourite hangout for vegans and non-vegans in Brixton.
With an official launch date of the 6th December, Halo Burger is running it’s soft launch from 28th November, which is when they will be giving away 100 free burgers, and offering 50 per cent off until the 5th December.
