Delivery food service, Uber Eats, has stated that vegan food will be one of the biggest food trends for 2019, keeping it in the public eye.
In the company’s latest report, it identified different food trends throughout 2018 and their predictions for next year. Plant-based food took the top spot for next year, closely followed by smoothie bowls, pea milk and seitan, all of which are popular in the world of vegan food.
Avocado and toast were the two reigning champions of food in their list for this year’s most popular foods, with the goth food trend just behind.
The company made their predictions by looking at the most commonly ordered food in Uber Eats orders – clean eating is one of the most popular foods, and fermented foods are expected to rise in popularity net year.
Plant-based food is becoming increasingly popular as the options available are more accessible, and a wider range of food is produced. The environmental and health benefits of a vegan diet are in the spotlight more than ever, along with the realities of animal agriculture.
