This cake is any cherry lover’s dream and is perfectly romantic. The almond base tastes like marzipan and complements the layers of fruity cheezecake and sweet cherry sauce. Although you can use fresh dark cherries and cherry juice for this recipe, frozen sour cherries give a nicer colour. Plus, you are left with the liquid cherry juice when you defrost the cherries, so you don’t need to go out and buy the juice separately!
