Baked Butter Beans

The paprika and maple syrup gives these simple baked beans smoky flavour. Serve alongside your full English breakfast, or just pop them on toast for a quick but satisfying meal.

Serves 4


  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 300g (10.5 oz) passata
  • 1 tbsp tomato pureé
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • 60ml (2 fl oz) vegetable stock
  • 400g (14 oz) tin butter beans, drained
  • Fresh parsley, optional

To serve

  • 1
    Add all the ingredients into a saucepan over a medium heat and cook for 8-10 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened and the beans have softened.

    Sprinkle with parsley if using.
